Even though Colombia is a beautiful country to visit, it may not be the safest. Colombia is one of the top ten dangerous countries to visit all around the world. It is an undeveloped country. It has a population of 45,013,672 people currently living in it. Their is a 40-year conflict between government forces and anti-government forces insurgent groups and illegal paramilitary groups. Both funded by the drug trade and emerged during the 1990s and is still going on to this  current day. The insurgents  dont have the military or the support the need to overthrow the government, and violence has been decreasing since about 2002, but insurgents continue attacks against the people in cololmbia and large swaths of the countryside are under guerrilla influence. The government has increased their efforts to regain government controle throughout the country. However, neighbouring countries worry about Colombias violence coming to their own countrie.Colombia is also the most dangerous place on earth to be a trade unionist, with 70 people killed there last year for union activities and 260 Colombian trade unionists received death threats.
